Paneer or cottage cheese is the only food you can make a variety of options. Just like paneer tikka, here is another popular variant named as Paneer Butter Masala .It’s a creamy-rich paneer recipe that can be easily prepared at home in just an hour. This is a popular dish of the North Indian cuisine, which is known for its colourful spices and different flavours.

Ingredients

450 gm paneer
2 bay leaf
5 medium tomato
2 teaspoon ginger paste
2 tablespoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 1/2 tablespoon fresh cream
1 teaspoon refined oil
4 tablespoon butter
salt as required
2 clove
2 cinnamon
2 red chilli
1 sliced onion
2 teaspoon garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon kasoori methi powder

For Garnishing

1 handful coriander leaves

How to make Paneer Butter Masala
Step 1 / 3

To prepare this recipe, take a pan and add three tbsp of butter with one tsp oil in it. Heat it over moderate flame. Add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, dried and broken red chilies and half of the crushed coriander seeds. Saute these ingredients for half a minute.

Add the sliced onions and stir fry till they turn slightly pinkish in hue.Now add ginger-garlic paste. Keep it stirring and cook on low flame till the raw smell goes away. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder and chopped tomatoes. Cook the mix on high flame till oil leaves the masala.

Once masala is cooled, puree the mixture. Heat the leftover butter in a non-stick pan over moderate flame. Cook the pureed mixture for two minutes. Add paneer pieces and salt. Add half a cup of water. Cook covered on low heat for five minutes.Sprinkle kasoori methi and mix in lightly. Remove from heat and transfer the dish to a serving bowl. Mix in cream and serve hot, garnished with coriander leaves.
